If You Dont Get an 0800 Number Then You are Missing Out
As we all are aware we are in the middle of a huge economic downturn. This has simply resulted in big companies cutting down on the call centre staff that they employ. Only recently Sky was featured on the BBC channel Watchdog, the main complaints were against their call waiting times.
People have hectic lives in this day and age and they simply do not have the time to stay on the phone for hours. They want to be able to call up and speak to someone straight away, but that is not happening with companies at the moment. There are two things that companies are doing these days:
1) They make it so hard to actually get through to a human being, they have so many options to choose from and if you end up choosing the wrong one they briefly give you a message and then hang the phone up on you, which can become extremely annoying.
2) Once you do finally start to get through to the section where you can speak to some one they leave you on hold for a few hours.
This is one of the main reasons as to why the company Sky were investigated by the Watchdogs. On one occasion they left people waiting on hold for almost 3 hours which is a huge amount. I know companies are currently finding it hard at the moment but they need to do something before their customers begin to leave. The way around this would be for companies to get a freephone 0800 number, the reason behind this is because they could then actually show their clients that we want your call, we are just busy at the moment but if you stay on hold we are willing to pay for the entire wait.
